Passion
It was in tears I found I was alive,
as a glance of friendship said hello,
what is it about long walks,
or campfires, lonely churches,
and lost people.
We met in an odd moment of questions,
when my soul turned to me,
positioning me with a hand,
that held a wilderness of silence.
I was shy when my life needed me to live,
I laid back down, even in the presence of urgency.
,
My steps were imprisoned by a tiny imagination.
Perhaps, I wondered, when will I die.
I rested awhile on my reluctance,
until passion unfurled its urgent stroke,
I had been thinking far too much.
My legs unwound as I closed my eyes.
I took the biggest leap my life had known.
I crossed through the barriers to my heart.
Had I been too scared to take a chance.
I committed again to my own courage.
Once the seed is planted;
a direction is on its course,
move out the way, what is not meant be,
a life becomes by where it is.
